AMELIORATE ETHOS
Ameliorate, a woman-centred focus & certified doula enhances mother-infant connections through fostering positive interpersonal relationships, as influenced by Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory (1976). Effective listening & empathy assist Ameliorate in developing bespoke care plans incorporating developmental research & mental health considerations.
Positive family connections aid learning & growth for mother & infant during the significant transition into motherhood. Ameliorate aims to promote positive bonds from pre-conception to post-birth for optimal brain health & infant development during such a process of becoming a mother, termed 'Matrescene' | Dana Raphael, Anthropologist (1975).
As a woman, I am in awe & amazed by Clara Hale's (April 1, 1905 – December 18, 1992) efforts to improve this world. I hope to endeavour to be as kind, considerate & caring in my professional & personal life. Clara Hale's humanitarian efforts, seen in the Hale House Centre for disadvantaged children & those born drug-dependent, inspire Ameliorate Matrescene.
VALUABLE LIFE INSIGHTS
VALUABLE LIFE INSIGHTS
Throughout life, I have gained valuable experiences that contribute to my ethos in offering ethical & comprehensive holistic support to all individuals without criticism or judgment. After many years in frontline customer services leading into graduating |BPsySc (CounsIntSk).
As an independent woman with formal & informal education coupled with navigating life, in understanding that growth & development do not occur in isolation but include navigating ecological systems surrounding us, including family members, peers, education & community.
I hold a Bachelor of Psychological Science (counselling & interpersonal skills), & as I graduated the same year, I was turning forty years of age the realisation of how much more complex my mental load became amongst adding another responsibility within my ecological systems, as they often overlapped in an elliptical form as an orbit that highlighted the intricacies of the physical, emotional toll came with balancing the mental load necessary to complete such overlapping priorities, interacted like in some strange orbital sequence. I understand the socio-cultural variations even within the same cultural context. Humans are social beings where development & growth do not occur in isolation but within ecological systems.
I endeavour to allow safe, appropriate time & to hold space for discourse that assists others in opening up other points of view by exploring new insights around possible unforeseen circumstances when someone has an inability to think clearly when under times of anxiety or distress. Moreso in the balancing act necessary & in my desire to support individuals in gaining self-determination to foster a sense of being & gain control of their current situation.
In essence, my passion for perinatal support is driven by a belief that every individual deserves access to care that aligns with their personal beliefs, values & desires. By providing ethical & comprehensive holistic support, I aim to empower individuals & families to navigate their perinatal journey with confidence, ease & joy.
BABY BABBLE
Babbling is a crucial aspect of a baby's language development, allowing them to experiment with sounds and understand how language works. Babbling begins with simple sounds such as crying and cooing and progresses to more complex syllables like "ba," "da," or "ma." Babies start reduplicated babbling around six to seven months, repeating the same syllables.
This stage helps them learn the mechanics of speech and prepare for more advanced language development. Babbling is a fun process for babies while strengthening the muscles necessary for speech production. It is vital in laying the foundation for a baby's language development.
The sounds babies make are not random but are influenced by the consonant sounds they already know. This suggests that babies' babbling skills play a role in how they understand and interact with the world and in their progression from babbling to using words.
